7 Ways to Increase Blog Traffic and Increase Your Income

Sharing Those Blog Posts on Social Media

You don’t have to have a ton of followers to benefit from sharing your blog posts. Be sure your blog has profiles set up on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and Twitter at the very least. Social media is powerful not to mention it helps your blog show up more on posts through Google and search results. If you write a great post it could go viral on social media and bring in even more traffic.

Be sure to capture email addresses

Make good use of that blog traffic and capture their email addresses. Building an email list is an important part of your blogging business as it allows you to notify visitors about new blog posts, freebies, and other interesting activities that can easily entice them to come back to your blog. To create an awesome email list you need to be sure that you have a signup form on each of your blog posts.

So often I see bloggers simply add a signup form on the mailing list page of their site and that’s it. These bloggers are losing a solid way to grow a strong following. Also, don’t forget that space in your sidebar or the use of pop-up boxes. Even a simple call to action at the bottom of your post which leads to a signup form is a great way to capture those addresses. Be sure to let your visitors know in the signup form what is in it for them. What do they get when they become a subscriber.

Re-Share Older Blog Posts

Did you know that in order to increase blog traffic you should res-share older blog posts? This strategy has helped countless bloggers get their content out there where it sometimes gets overlooked. This is not spamming readers. Instead, the tactic is a way of circulating and recirculating your content to keep it active and engaging.

Participate in Social Media Niche Communities

Participate in niche communities on social media. These communities need to be related to what your blog is about. Be sure to first check out the rules of the communities and if they allow you to share relatable blog posts then be sure to do this as a strategy for building up your blog traffic.

Use Keyword Research to Discover Awesome Blog Posts Topics

You don’t want to write about just any old thing no one cares about. Your content needs to be valuable and attention-grabbing. Even if your content is the best and there are tons of people who would love to read it, if they can’t find it, then writing it is a waste of time.

This is where keyword research is a blogger’s lifesaver! Keywords? Yes, if you’re not familiar with the process, you need your blog to rank in Google for people to be able to find it. In order for them to find your posts, you need to use keywords that relate to both your posts and what your potential site visitor is looking for. I like to call keywords my middle man. They bring my blog and readers together. It’s crucial to increase blog traffic and for building upon your blog’s success.

Google has a free keyword planner tool which is great for getting your feet wet and discovering what it’s all about. Semrush is also an awesome tool for finding effective keywords. The goal is to identify phrases that have lower amounts of competition which you can use in your blog post. These need to be phrases that attract a decent amount of traffic. Once you’ve done your research, be sure to add the best keywords to your blog posts title, headers, meta description, alt text, and body copy.

Use Beautiful and Clear Images

They say images speak a thousand words and it’s the truth! Your content can be fabulous but one bad image can ruin it. Images need to be clear and https://bossmomblogger.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/pexels-leeloo-thefirst-8970645.jpgp, nothing pixelated. Each post should have at least one image of some kind. The image helps your reader get a visual cue as to what the post is about. It shows up on search results and draws more attention than posts without images. Attention means more click throughs to your blog. Good images help your content look authoritative. suitable keywords can be added to your image’s alt text and further helps you rank in Google search.

When adding images be sure to keep an eye on the file size. Extremely large pictures can increase the page load time which slows down your blog. Google prioritizes sites that are quick. You want to keep your file size reasonable. Only use images that belong to you or that you have permission to share. You do not want to get in legal trouble for copyright and other issues when using images. Sites like Unsplash and Pexels have free stock photos you can use. There are also many paid stock photo sites. One of my favorites is Ivory Mix.
