I’m pretty sure your answer is yes even if you’re a little hesitant because you’re not sure how to get to the level you’re trying to achieve.

No worries! Doubt and uncertainty affect all of us. Believe it or not, it even affects those amazing successful entrepreneurs that never seem to falter. What’s their secret? Confidence, knowledge and a fire of passion to achieve their goals.

Action Steps to Explode Your Business Momentum

You’re not going to let fear and overwhelm cause you to forfeit your dreams to become a successful entrepreneur.

We hear about all of these entrepreneurs taking “massive action”.

This term is fairly prominent in the circles of business marketers and coaches but it’s not really fully understood.  There’s too much fluff and hype but not much guidance to achieve actionable results that keep your business momentum going.

When you think about taking massive action it usually calls for:

  • Seriously busting your behind and creating lots of service packages and products
  • Constantly being visible and putting yourself out there
  • Lots of promoting, marketing and selling

Before you even realize it, you’re experiencing burn out, tired to the bone and have lost all passion for your business.

Taking massive action should not cause your business to fail. There truly is a proper method to the madness and I’m going to share with you the correct way to make it happen.

5 Smart Steps to Boost Your Business Momentum

Find Clarity

You need to determine your mission and make it crystal clear.

We’re not talking about goals here. A mission is more exact. It defines a destination and lays out the details on what you want to do and where you want to be. It needs to be inspirational so your focus does not waiver from your mission. Create a deadline for your mission so you have a timeframe to work with.

Here are a few example missions:

Create a 6-figure blogging business in 5 years
Write and publish a book in one year

Always include a deadline so you have a timeframe to work towards achieving your mission. The deadline triggers a sense of urgency that will help guide you towards achieving a win with your mission.

Make it a Challenge

The next step in blasting your business momentum is turning your mission into a challenge. Let’s take a look at one of the missions I use as an example in step 1. Create a 6-figure blogging business in 5 years.

Let’s get realistic with this mission and ask yourself does it feel doable or are you a bit uncomfortable with the idea of making it happen? If you feel fairly confident in your ability to reach your mission tweak it a little until the idea gets you out of your comfort zone. You need it to feel more like a challenge.  So to tweak this mission we will say we’re going to Create a 6-figure blogging business in 3 years.  Oh wow, this is a little scary! Why do you want me to tweak it down like this?

Well, research has shown that we need to be pushed out of our comfort zones by 4% to create a rhythmic flow — “4% rule” which basically means humans are far more likely to succeed when faced with a challenge that is 4% higher than our skill levels.  Feel challenged yet capable.

Chase Constant Tiny Wins

Taking actionable steps to build business momentum demands perseverance, commitment and determination to follow through.
You can’t rely on your willpower and mental strength to push you to the end because believe me it waxes and wanes over time.

So what what works?

Break down your mission into little, doable pieces so you can experience what I like to call “tiny wins.”

These tiny wins work like mini “motivation boosters” that are good for increasing your confidence, motivation and drive as well as helps dissolve overwhelm and fear in business.

Let’s use an example:

For every sale you make over $500 you get to celebrate to commemorate the occasion. Tiny wins keep the persistence and consistency going and every entrepreneur needs that to ultimately achieve their mission.

Take Every Day Action Steps

Every day needs to have some kind of actionable step in place to work towards your mission. It does not have to be a big step. Examples would be: write a social media post, blog post, create a marketing campaign, run a promotion, meditate to get yourself focused, etc.

Having a routine each day working towards achieving the mission you set for yourself will keep the momentum going and increase the odds your business will be a success. You want your courage and determination to keep moving forward.

Challenges are Normal

Preparing for set-backs is part of being a business owner. You can’t expect everything to always run smoothly. Things happen sometimes in life and business. Think about possible issues as you work towards building your business so you can set systems in place to prepare for these along the way. Rather than being blindsided and sticking your head in the sand like an ostrich (been there done that), focus on realistic issues that could arise and prepare as much as you are able so it helps you overcome and lessen any possible down time the set-backs could cause. Normalize any challenges you could face and make it your priority to overcome and get back in the game as quickly as possible.

Remember, part of your quest in creating business momentum and keeping the fire going is to find clarity. Determine your mission and make it clear. Make finishing your mission a challenge so it draws you out of your comfort zone. This is a proven way to increase the odds of your success. Tiny wins are important for your increasing your motivation and mental power to see it through. Take actionable steps each day to work towards your business mission, whether they are big or small. Realize set-backs can happen so you should prepare in advance for facing setbacks so your business can overcome and continue to move forward.
